First let us know what is euthanasia? Euthanasia is the process of painlessly helping a terminally ill person to die. In the other word it is known as mercy killing. This task is performed by lethal injection. So do you think that euthanizing your pet is the right decision?
Euthanizing a pet is one of the most difficult things we will ever do. Euthanizing their pet is the only option left for the owner who don’t want their ill pet to suffer or who find veterinary costs for continued treatment of their pet to be prohibitive. The emotions at this moment make you think hard to take such decision. Therefore this is actually a right decision if taken because it is better to kill the pet rather than making them suffers a lot with a pain. Mercy killing a pet is also not illegal according to the court of law.
People for Ethical Treatment of Animal (PETA) undertake the task of mercy killing the animals. As PETA believes euthanasia is the kindest gif to a dog or cat unwanted and unloved. Try to put yourself in place of those at PETA who care deeply for animals but still they have to hold the animals in the arms and take their lives because there is now where for them to go.
Therefore, citizens who are up in arms about the need for euthanasia should join us in being up in arms about stopping the flow of unwanted animals.

I personally feel that animals have contributed immensely for the well being of the human beings. So, it is the obligation of the mankind to treat our animals in humane manner and protect them from cruelties. We should create awareness regarding humane treatment of animals and to sensitize the people for their valuable contribution to the well being of mankind.
Mahatma Gandhi says that social development of Nation is judged by the way its people treat their animals. Therefore it is the fundamental duty of each and every single individual to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, river and wild life and to have compassion for all living creature.
Awareness against the unnecessary pain or suffering to animals can be created by ways of lectures, books, posters, cinematographic exhibition, etc. animal welfare rights should organize some national rally for the protection of animal from being treated cruelly.
For example-: Animals at cattle farm and chicken industry are badly treated with no proper shelter to them. They are even not provided with healthy food. The crowded and filthy condition at farm has even created a threat to human health. It is the duty of human being to take necessary steps against these cattle farm and chicken industry in order to provide healthy environment to those animals.
People for Ethical Treatment of Animal (PETA) is a wonderful animal welfare organization, which is taking all necessary steps towards protection of animals from unnecessary pain and suffering. PETA, this the very active organization that I have found is actually working for the welfare of animal all over the world. But I request all the people all over world to take all possible steps towards the welfare of animal which will also result in social development of your country.

India has discontinued a 25-year-old tradition by banning the use of elephants on republic day’s military parade in New Delhi because some angry elephants caused a scare at the parade last year.
Animals rights activist have also made protest to bring to an end the hardships faced by these jumbos. The elephant were the highlight of the parade, they has to carry the national bravery award-winner children on top of them. But these children will be taken in open military jeep.
Last year, nearly two elephants became uncontrollable and caused stampede. Keeping this in mind, the government decided not to take any chance in this year at these huge gathering.
Another most important reason to ban this tradition is that from past 4-5 years animal right activists have been demanding for ban, saying that this is cruelty made to elephant making them stand and facing cacophony of band for long hours even during rehearsals.
Therefore, elephant are commonly used in India at various fairs and festivals, particularly in southern India.
PETA decided to file a suit against the release of deer in the sunderbans on Thursday to feed the starving tigers in the wild. The royal Bengal tigers in sunderbans have become more pathetic. Due to lack of food tigers in sunderbans they started venturing out from the forest and go to the near by village for food.
The forest government has taken this issue seriously and found the way for it. They decided to release 100 deer from the conservative park to the sunderbans where will eaten by starving tiger. So that tiger do not enter the village area and target the human being in search of food. This is excellent plan but PETA is not amused.
The head of PETA, India, Anuradha Sawhney, said “many celebrities has expressed their sympathy for our cause but Ishaa has confirmed that she will take a delegation to Bengal CM. Ishaa says if deer are moved to the forest she will lodge a case in the court. She feels strongly about the wild life and we will not allow this.
Sawhney said that if the deer and tiger both are in the forest then it was a different issue but throwing them in front of the tiger is devoured. This is criminal and we will move to court for this and will convince the CM that he should put his foot down.
People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have asked Air India to help its hostesses to reduce their weight rather than sacking them. Just for being overweight 10 Indian Air Hostesses received termination notice by Air India.
Sawhney said, instead of terminating the Air Hostesses follow the policy of “Go Vegan – Go Slim, its really simple.” Meat eaters are usually fatter compare to vegetarian. The only thing that has proved to take off weight and keep us low fat is vegan diet.
On Wednesday, Sawhney said in the letter to chief managing director of Air India Raghu Menon that by switching to vegan diet, you can stop the obesity and also vegan diet is the best way to loss weight. Vegan food is naturally low in fat and unnecessary calorie is also restricted.
“We People for Ethical Treatment for Animals (PETA) sincerely hope that your company will take effective steps to help your own staff to reduce the unnecessary weight so that their would be no need to terminate your staff.”
PETA is actually asking for the Keene city council to pass an ordinance on banning the chaining of dogs because 6-years old girl was mauled by pit bull last month.
Mayor Roy Robinson got a letter on Tuesday, according to which Billie Jean Cain was attacked last month by dog, when the dog got himself free from the chain. Candace Hertzel, legislative and outreach specialist for the animal rights organization, said PETA received many e-mails and phone calls about the attack.
Hertzel said, a chained dog is three times more dangerous than unchained dogs and also they are most likely to attack. That’s why we reach out in those situations. Dogs are very social animals and chaining them can lead to frustration and territorial behavior. In the community like Keene it’s difficult to keep dog from roaming because there are many homes on large lots.
Robinson said it’s different in cities as I would not think of chaining a dog unless there is no other option left to me. But it will create a problem if we will not let anyone to chain a dog. The city has a small shelter which means that animals can’t be kept for a long time.
She said she hopes Keene will follow the lead of other Texas cities, such as Fort Worth, Irving and Dallas, which do not allow the dogs to be tethered outdoors except in limited circumstances.

The Animal Welfare Board of India filed a application in the supreme court on seeking permission to ban the traditional “jallikattu” festival that is held in Tamil Nadu every year during the period of pongal celebration.
This is the worst tradition they follow every year as this is unnecessary cruelty to the bulls. The bulls are starved or fed intoxicated substances before being provoked to fight men trained for the purpose. Last year during this festival some person were killed and most of them were injured, apart from cruelty against animals.
By seeing such a terrible cruelty, Supreme Court finally agreed to refuse the bull fight during the pongal this year. By the said orders, the apex court has directed the government to ensure that the age-old fight was held in the presence of observers of the board.
On Tuesday, “People for the Ethical Treatment (PETA)” of Animal staged an anti fur protest in Yakima. PETA member laid a demonstration on the sidewalk on N. 1st St. covered in fake blood and draped in fur. Their legs were stuck in a real animal trap.
PETA says “We hope after this demonstration people will actually prefer to go fur free.” Animals caught in trap are suffering the misery by beating, stomping or bludgeoning them to death.
The large metal traps are illegal in Washington, but are used in America. PETA is travelling across the country to do this demonstration. All the people who see the scene has mixed reaction towards it.
Some of the man yelled and says “good work.” But some says that their could be even more effective way to get the message out. Winnie Clemenson says it is going extreme; there are better ways to do it. He says how can fake fur look like real thing. Above all the reaction PETA believes that great lengths make a strong point.

In the new ad of PETA Jiah Khan was dressed as the wounded bird wrapped in the kite string and next to it the tag line says that “Cut the Glass-Coated Manja, not birds”. This ad coincides with the festival of Makar Sankranti, during which number of kite are flown using Glass-Coated Manja. When this Manja falls on trees, the birds get entangled in the Manja and the wings of the birds get cut down. By this thousands of birds are killed every year.
This Glass-Coated Manja are not only harmful to the birds but also causes lots of human injuries and deaths, including passer by travelling on bicycles, motorcycles or scooters. Example of this could be the latest incident in Mumbai; a stray Manja literally slit the man’s throat.
Jiah Khan says, “Glass-Coated Manja is a public health hazards and also causes death for the birds that get entangled in it”. So we want all the Makar Sankranti participants and kite-flying competitors to immediately stop the Glass-Coated Manja and conduct their sport in such a way that it does not cause any harm to human and wildlife.
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) received a mail from the world largest animal rights organization- PETA (the people for Ethical Treatment of Animals) that decided to welcomes 2009 with the latest campaign featuring longtime advocate, actress-singer, Yasmein Kurdi and they also attached a copy of the campaign posters that will be circulated to get the message across to a wider audience.
In the mail PETA tried to explain that in the first ad, Kurdi poses inside the cage along with the fellow chick- a baby chicken with the tag line written as “try to relate to who’s on your plate, go vegetarian.” And on the second ad she has to poses on top of the cage under the tagline “Respect chicks, go vegetarian.”
The supporter of PETA, Yasmein Kurdi was very active in creating awareness among the public to stop eating meat and go for eating healthy vegetarian stuff as so many delicious alternatives are now available. You can actually enjoy the great food without causing any animal to suffer for food.
This new ad campaign aware the public to embrace a healthy lifestyle. If you be vegetarian it will indirectly helps the animal to be away from the cruelty given to them for your food. An investigation reveals that animals raised intensively in factory farms regularly undergo tail docking, debeaking and castration without pain relievers that would at least ease the suffering.
