Mumbai’s top snake man died due to cobra attack

Mumbai’s famous snake catcher Sunil.S.Ranade died after he was bitten by a cobra on Sunday. He has rescued nearly 15000 snakes in past five years. He was rescuing snakes, reptiles and other creature from past decades. He was working as animal inspector with 36 tears old society named prevention of cruelty to animals. Even during the great Mumbai flood he rescued 100 snakes and after treating, they left them to Sanjay Gandhi national park

On Saturday he rescued a cobra and kept the cobra in the container in his home. In afternoon when he went to feed the creature it attacked him. It was a much unexpected incident as Ranade was extremely good at handling snakes and reptiles. Some neighbors’ and staff shifted him to near by hospital. Though he had an emergency vaccine and pumps to remove poison at spot we are sad that he met his end in this manner.

As Ranade was one of the most active members of this organization, they decided to provide all necessary assistance to his surviving family. Ranade was the first person Mumbaikars would contact in case of any encounters with reptiles or other wild creatures in and around the city.
