PETA new campaign to protest against leather product and animal cruelty

On Saturday, in front of the leather footwear fair People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) protested against the leather products. PETA activist dressed themselves as dead cows, sheep and pigs and lay on the ground in open coffin in front of that leather fair.

Arkaprava bhar- the campaign coordinator said that PETA aims to raise awareness as how cruelly this animals are treated before their skin are turned in to leather shoes, bags and other leather products. In short PETA wants the manufacturer to use synthetic or other natural fibres to make such products other than animal skin.

It is clearly said that those who buy leather products directly contribute to the animal cruelty and are equally responsible for such cruelty towards animal as they encourage the manufacturer to manufacture the product as it create demand. Animals are not only killed they suffers horrors. They are skinned even when they are still conscious. By this campaign PETA encourages the buyer to buy animal cruelty free products.

Mumbai’s famous snake catcher Sunil.S.Ranade died after he was bitten by a cobra on Sunday. He has rescued nearly 15000 snakes in past five years. He was rescuing snakes, reptiles and other creature from past decades. He was working as animal inspector with 36 tears old society named prevention of cruelty to animals. Even during the great Mumbai flood he rescued 100 snakes and after treating, they left them to Sanjay Gandhi national park

On Saturday he rescued a cobra and kept the cobra in the container in his home. In afternoon when he went to feed the creature it attacked him. It was a much unexpected incident as Ranade was extremely good at handling snakes and reptiles. Some neighbors’ and staff shifted him to near by hospital. Though he had an emergency vaccine and pumps to remove poison at spot we are sad that he met his end in this manner.

As Ranade was one of the most active members of this organization, they decided to provide all necessary assistance to his surviving family. Ranade was the first person Mumbaikars would contact in case of any encounters with reptiles or other wild creatures in and around the city.

People for Ethical Treatment of Animals protested against the international leather that started on Friday. Some of the PETA activists were wearing body suits splattered in red and masks of a cow and horse. The main to protest against the lather fair is to create awareness among the people that leather is actually a dead skin.

Akraparva Bhar, one of the organizers of the protest says that animals are treated very cruelly before they are turned in to leather shoes, bags and other products. So we want people to use other synthetic and natural fiber product instead of product made up of dead animal skin.

To drive the attention of people vibrantly two activists dressed themselves as skinned cow and skinned horse and slept in the open show box. The basic message that they wanted to convey is that animals are skinned and killed for leather products.

A temple in Sothern Nepal celebrates a festival once in every five years in which hundreds of animals are scarified to the Hindu goddess of power Gadhimai. And this year it’s due to take place on November 24 and 25.

But this year, the animal right group is protesting against it and forcing the Nepal government to stop it because they believe its senseless sacrifice innocent animals due to people’s superstitions. Pramada Shah, director of campaign group animal Nepal has launched a campaign to stop this gruesome killing of animals in the name god.

The campaign received a strong support from the Ram Bahadur Bomjam, a young Nepalese man believed by followers to be a reincarnation of Buddha; he said he could survive without water, food or sleep. Bomjam was meditating from past many years in Nepal. He broke his silence to protest against this festival and stop the cruelty.

In India today there is greater awareness about animal sacrifice and suffering, so people and animal rights activist are against it. Some states in India have even banned animal slaughter for religious purpose. So all this factors have major advantage to stop this festival in Nepal.

The Nepal’s government says they have already pledged 4.5 million rupees in funding for the festival and authorities says they have no power to stop this festival. In 2004 around 80,000 people attended the festival. So, this year they are expecting even more crowd to attend the festival.

Finally the Nepal government stated
“We are not forcing devotees to sacrifice animals. It is an age-old practice and it must continue. The festival will lose its charm and become meaningless if we break with tradition.”

People for Ethical treatment of animals are its best to stop the festival as its very terrified cruelty towards the innocent animals.

PETA wants us to say “NO” for crackle this diwali

People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) want people to say no for crackle this Diwali because to dogs, cows, donkeys and other animals Diwali seems like more terrorist attack than a festive celebration. Fireworks are more frightening to animals as they don’t realize the explosion as entertainment.

Due to these noisy fireworks most of the animals run away from their homes because of loud noise. Many animals get separated from their families; some suffer form severe injuries or even die due to loud noise. Only the lucky one gets united with their families back.

The coordinator of PETA “Nikunj Sharma” says Diwali is always the celebration of joy but by saying “No” to crackles we can even add joy to the lives of animals.

You can take some measures to make your animals comfortable
1. Keep your dogs and cats indoors during fireworks.
2. Close all your windows and curtains turn on loudly radio or television.
3. Make sure people do not throw fireworks on them. Report to police immediately if anyone try tie lit crackle to the tail of animals.
4. Make sure your animal is wearing collar and an identification tag in case of lost.
This are some important measure can be taken to make animals comfortable and from not being frightened.

PETA protest against the closure of all zoos in India

People for Ethical Treatment of Animals demonstrated the citing death of animals in captivity and also called for shutting down all zoos in front of central zoo authority. Due to recent incident at Kanpur zoo, Uttar Pradesh animal right organization wants all zoos to shut down and held banners saying “let animal show all true colors- shut the zoos”.

The PETA activist says that animals that are kept in zoos are prevented from engaging in there natural behavior such as flying, swimming, running, hunting, climbing, scavenging and selecting mate.

All zoos usually claim that they protect the species from being extinct but the incident at Kanpur zoo proved it to be false claim. So the animal right organization group wants CZA to take strict action against all zoos that violate the animal safety norms and order them to close the zoo immediately.
